My week spent with BOC ministering to the people in Haiti was rewarding, challenging as well as a blessing.  I hope I was able to give to the Haitian people as much as they gave to me.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 

Joseph SapienzaFounder & Director of Bread of Compassion. He attended Northpoint Bible College and Northwest College in 1980 and he earned his Master of Urban Ministry from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Joseph has served on various boards including the board of trustees at Northpoint Bible College as well as being the Alumni President. Joseph has been the lead pastor of Celebration International Church since 1991. He has organized and taken more than 1,500 people on overseas humanitarian missions and has built orphanages, schools and drug rehab centers. He founded Bread of Compassion in 2005 to mobilize medical teams and serve those who did not have access to medical care in Haiti. 

 

 

Dr. John Sapienza - Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists since 1993. Dr. Sapienza is the head and department chairman of the ophthalmology section at New York’s largest private practice referral center Long Island Veterinary Specialists (LIVS) in Plainview, New York. Dr. Sapienza’s special interests are cataract surgery with phacoemulsification, intraocular lens implantation, laser glaucoma therapy, glaucoma implants and reconstructive eyelid procedures. He was the first veterinary ophthalmologist to perform phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation in animals on Long Island, NY. Dr. Sapienza was the first veterinary ophthalmologist in the USA to perform injectable foldable acrylic intraocular lens implants in dogs. He has conducted extensive studies on the effect of laser energy in eyes with glaucoma and has published several articles on glaucoma therapy, Golden Retriever uveitis and ocular reports in exotic species.

 

Steve Miller  - Lead pastor at New Hope Church in Three Rivers, MI. He has earned his Master of Leadership at Southeastern University and is currently the executive presbyter with the Assemblies of God, MI district. He has an extensive background in organizing and sending mission teams into developing countries.  Steve has conducted humanitarian missions throughout eastern Europe, Central and South America and Alaska. He is an professor at Northpoint Bible College, MI.

 

Charles Cabral - Lead pastor at Living Hope Church Pawtucket, RI. Charles has traveled to Haiti with Bread of Compassion and has a passion to help and restore hurting people. He operates a food pantry that serves families in need in the greater Pawtucket region of Rhode Island. 

 

 

 

Attorney Sam Rodriguez - Graduated from Cornell University in 1985 and SUNY Buffalo School of Law 1988. He practiced law in Massachusetts and now lives in Florida. Sam is currently Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ft. Myers, Florida. He served on the board of Agape International – Hyderabad, India and serves on New Operation Cooper St. – Puta Gorda and in the Dr. Piper Center for Elder Care. 

 

 

Monica L. Gonzalez Figueroa - Monica is a recent graduate student from Rhode Island College, majoring in Business. She has worked in non-profit for several years, with aspirations to obtain her CPA. Monica serves as Bookkeeper for her local church located in Rhode Island. She enjoys serving and being part of volunteer-based activities.
